Hotel Abtei, (11 rooms) description: The delightful, beautiful Patrician villa was bought by Petra and Fritz Lay in 1978 and then had been transformed into a hotel. In 1989, the restaurant "Prinz Frederik" opened its doors to the public and has become one of the gourmet hot spots in town.
The 5-star Hotel Abtei occupies a beautiful villa built in 1881 set amongst the chic boutiques in the distinguished suburb Harvestehude, within walking distance of the Alster lake.
The family-run Hotel Abtei offers charming, individually furnished en suite accommodation inspired by British and French styles.
Enjoy dinner at the Prince Frederik restaurant – a highly recommended and extremely private restaurant with only 4 tables.
Near to the Hotel Abtei are many museums and the Alster lake, which lies just a few minutes’ walk away, is the perfect location for a peaceful walk or boat trip. The hotel is only 15 minutes away from Hamburg’s culture-rich city centre by public transport.

ROOM INFORMATION
Mr and Mrs. Lay were inspired during their long-term stays in England and France to create a "home away from home". For this reason, all rooms are arranged individually and offer peace, luxury, and an immediate "comfort feeling".
